HDR Architectural Photography

MogilMEDIA Logo Design by DHP

Project:  HDR Architectural Photography
Client: DoggHouse Productions
Location: Oakland, CA
Tools: Photoshop, Photography, Nikon DSLR, 18mm Lens
Backstory: HDR Photography is incredibly dynamic (as the name suggests) as well as downright sexy. The idea is that the camera takes an identical photograph in 3+ exposures (usually one dramatically lighter, one dramatically darker, in addition to the original) and merges the 3 exposures to benefit from all of the shadows and highlights. Merging the exposures definitely takes some work in the post-production process. I have not yet found an easy way to do such a task.

When I look around major cities, I always see 2 things without fail: at least 1 schmuck wearing a Yankees cap, and people with digital SLR cameras strapped around their necks!

Location: Cherry Hill, NJ / Greater Philadelphia Area
Tools: Photoshop, Photography
Backstory: Shelly Gans, the Philadelphia Business Broker, is a long-time friend of my family’s in addition to being the father of one of my piers. I long wondered what this man did for a living, and one day I received a telephone call from him debating whether or not to re-advertise his business in the Yellow Pages, or to finally weave himself into the world wide web with an internet presence. DoggHouse Productions was happy to hook him up with a logo, web site, and web banner which advertises local private classified listings for commercial real estate properties and occasional licenses located in the greater Philadelphia area.

Canvas Print by DHP

Project: Custom Canvas Print, Graphic Design, i’m sorry but i love you
Client: DoggHouse Productions
Location: Oakland, CA
Tools: Photoshop, Photography, Canvas Printing & Stretching
Backstory: It’s a rare occasion that I would ever accept an apology, let alone regurgitate one. Things happen, regret is absurd, and I accept occurrences for what they are and can appreciate that life happens; and I let it. “I’m sorry” in addition to the phrase “i love you,” gets thrown around an awful lot, to the point of too much, usually with a consequentially diminished sense of meaning and truthfulness. Combining the two phrases seemed to construct a powerful message that, when left to the imagination, produces a number of critical and dramatic (hopefully romantic) scenarios that could only be capable of invoking this sentence.

Canvas Print by DHP

Project: Custom Canvas Print, Graphic Design, Jon of Man
Client: Jonathan Salvador
Location: Redondo Beach, CA
Tools: Photoshop, Canvas Printing & Stretching
Backstory: Jonathan Salvador has been a good friend of my brother’s ever since they attended Cornell University together earlier this century. I was traveling up and back to New York City and Jon made for an excellent maître d’ of sorts recommending places to eat & party as well as joining me on these adventures. It got to the point where the young man owed me a little bit of money. We ceased communication for years until I got a phone call asking permission for him to come move in with us in Hollywood. I gave the scenario the green light and several months later we moved into a bigger place in Redondo Beach together.
