Backstory: TM Ideations is an up and coming App development company spearheaded by Tyler Marks. I believe word of mouth reference reeled him in through Max Mogil of Mogil Media and DHP took care of the rest.

TM Ideations was seeking a design package for a logo, business card, and simple 1 page website. You can check out the website here: TMIdeations.com.

The logo design process was interesting, as usual, and I am very please at the results that unfolded. Although it was difficult to choose between the final designs, it was a win-win situation. The inspiration came from several key factors. The client is obsessed with Westies, a type of dog breed. We had a few logo concepts featuring a silhouette of the pup, but they didn’t end up on the final drafting board. We then brainstormed a bit more and took into consideration the client’s favorite quote “Keep Your Eyes on the Stars and Your Feet on the Ground” – by Teddy Roosevelt. The quote ended up being featured on the business card design (coming up next) but the imagery of the stars ended up being key for the logo drafts.

Maybe it’s my obsessive love for South Park, but I was just really feeling the whole construction paper texture aspect and was wanting to create a design featuring it. In addition to a star, and construction paper, and westies, and teddy bears, I feel like a light bulb is always associated with the visual representation of actually having an idea…Albert Einstein or Thomas Edison, whatever the case, it was a good opportunity to flex my appreciation and love for the icon as you can see featured in TM Ideation’s logo.
